What is a siamese cable used for?
Siamese cable (RG59) combines a coaxial video cable with an 18/2 power conductor in a single jacket. It is used to connect analog CCTV cameras to DVRs – one cable run carries both the video signal and the camera's power.
How do I choose the right PoE switch?
Select a PoE switch with at least the same number of ports as your cameras, and verify the total power budget exceeds the sum of all connected camera power requirements by at least 20%. Most standard IP cameras require 7-15W each.
