Choose the Right Zoom Range
20x–36x optical zoom suits most parking lots, campuses, and commercial perimeters — covering 100–200m with recognizable detail. 60x–80x laser PTZ cameras are for stadiums, ports, and large open areas requiring 200–500m coverage. Avoid over-specifying: a 36x PTZ at a standard parking lot is more cost-effective and easier to configure than an 80x model.
Decide on Auto-Tracking vs Manual PTZ
Manual PTZ cameras require an operator or preset schedules to position the camera. AI Auto-Tracking PTZ cameras detect and follow moving targets autonomously — ideal for unmanned perimeter patrol, entry point monitoring, and situations where live operator control is not available. Auto-tracking PTZ costs more but reduces operator workload significantly.
