How to Choose the Right Hikvision Camera

What is the primary detection requirement?
If the goal is intrusion detection with minimal false alarms, start with AcuSense. If you need full-color night footage for identification, choose ColorVu. If AI analytics (face recognition, people counting) are required, look at DeepinView. If the budget is the main constraint and basic surveillance is sufficient, EasyIP covers it at lower cost.
What resolution do you need?
2MP (1080p) is sufficient for most standard surveillance — identifying faces at the camera's designed coverage distance. 4MP provides noticeably more detail and allows for greater cropping in post-incident review. 8MP (4K) is for wide-area coverage where you need to see fine detail across a larger field of view. Higher resolution also means larger storage requirements — factor this into NVR and HDD sizing.
Indoor or outdoor? What environmental conditions?
All outdoor Hikvision cameras are rated IP67 (fully dust-tight, water immersion rated). For coastal Florida environments with salt air, specify stainless steel mounting brackets and ensure the camera housing is rated for coastal/marine environments.
